October in Room 1

We had a very busy month in Junior Infants in October! Our aistear theme was the farm and the farm shop. At the small world station we set up our own farms. We were busy farmers harvesting fruit and vegetables, looking after the animals and driving out tractors. At the role play station we had a farm shop selling fresh produce from the farm. We played an animal memory game and we enjoyed doing autumn and Halloween themed art.

We also went on a nature walk to look for signs of autumn.

Here is our autumn art display and pictures of some witches in our classroom!

We had great fun dressing up for Halloween and enjoyed a BOOgey at our Halloween disco!

Active Day

Junior Infants had great fun participating in all the activities organised for European School Sports Day. We started the day with a school walk. We then completed an obstacle course. Finally, we had great fun at the different games stations set up in the infant yard. Many thanks to the playground leaders – you were super! We all really enjoyed getting active outside for the day! Check out the photos below.

September in Room 1

Our aistear theme for September was all about myself, my family and home. At the role play station we were busy in the kitchen cooking meals for all the family! At the small world station we enjoyed playing with the doll’s house. At the construction station we used wooden blocks, plastic blocks and the large polydrons to create different homes. At the art station we printed our hands, we decorated our names, we made a class jigsaw and we did cave paintings just like Cave Baby. We also worked on our fine motor skills.
