Remember home activities such as gardening, baking, exercising, playing lego, jigsaws, board games etc are all valuable educational activities. Chess Winners from St.Joseph’s !

 

On Wednesday 4th March , almost 30 children represented our school playing chess.We travelled to Enniscorthy to play in the Ficheall.ie Regional Tournament , in Gaelscoil Inis Corthaigh.

We entered one team of eight from 5th/6th classes & two teams of eight from 3rd/4th classes. All our super subs. played also. Each child played six games. The emphasis was on participation & fun ,so we did not get the following news of our success until the following week .

1st Gorey Gladiators 29 points ( St. Joseph’s)

2nd Bunclody Beats 28.5 points

3rd Ríthe Inis Corthaigh 23.5

Congratulations to all of the boys and girls who collected awards today in St. Joseph’s and well done to Johnny Connors 6th class who won the Ger Hogan Award for his wonderful contribution to St Joseph’s over the past five years. Well done Johnny!
