18th-22nd May: Mrs. Kirwan

Hello to all!

I hope you had a lovely weekend. Well done boys and girls on all the super work you did last week. Parents, thank you for your support and effort. My email address is mkirwanji@hotmail.com if you would like to send on photos of work completed or if you have any questions or concerns.

As you are aware your child’s books are available for collection this Wednesday 10am to 12 noon if you wish to collect them.

For those of you that have a school Dandelion reader at home, I would ask you to put it away safely and you can return it to me in September.

Below is a daily outline of work for the week. Do what you can each day, there is no pressure on anyone to complete everything.

Take care,

Máire Kirwan

Monday:

Phonics – Continue to revise all Jolly Phonics sounds in Sounds Copy

Wordbox 10a – last five words (at end of post)

English reading – introduce sight vocabulary from final book ‘The Spaceship’

We, big, they,

( The word ‘big’ can be sounded out phonetically. However ‘We’ and ‘they’ are tricky words. These words were introduced in previous books – the kids came upon ‘we’ with a small ‘w’ and also ‘They’ with a capital ‘T’. Your child should hopefully remember these tricky words.)

Daily practice of these three words – look and say each word until they are familiar with them and recognise them on sight. Writing or printing each word separately on paper will help when practising them.

English writing – ‘z’ letter formation ( practise on a page or print from the letter formation book on Twinkl )

Start at the dot, go across, slope, then go back across and stop.
