PASTURE TO PLATE WINNERS!!!

We are so thrilled to announce that Ms Waters’ first class have been chosen along with 5 other schools in Ireland to get a visit from a chef and farmer to cook our delicious recipe we created for the competition. In April, the chef and farmer are coming to St Joseph’s to take the children on a journey of their dish, from a pasture to plate. A huge thank you to local companies Naturally Cordial, Killowen Yoghurts & Ballycross Apple Farm to donating all of the ingredients to make our dish come to life. And also a big well done to all of the boys and girls who put in so much hard work and creativity to make it all possible ☺️

Local Produce Market

Just before midterm break,  we decided to make fruit bowls and smoothies for others in the school. We held a Local Produce market in PE Hall showcasing the generous donations of local produce from Naturally Cordial, Ballycross and Killowen. Well done to the boys and girls who were great hosts ☺️

Pasture to Plate Market

We had so much fun learning about local produce we decided to get others in school on board.  We held a small market in the hall so that others could try our yummy, healthy treats! Many thanks to Killowen Yoghurts for providing yoghurts for our fruit smoothies and bowl. Naturally Cordial also provided some delicious cordial which went down a big hit. We’ve had great fun experimenting and learning about all the delicious foods made in our county.
