Birds of Prey with Colin

We were so lucky to have Colin in with us this week to show us his selection of birds. We saw a hawk, a tawny owl, a little owl and a barn owl and we even got to meet two baby owls on their first day in school. The kids really enjoyed it and we’d like to say a big thank to Colin for coming in to us.

Chocolate Garden of Ireland

Senior Infants had a great day on their school tour in the Chocolate Garden of Ireland. We learned all about how chocolate is made and even got to taste a sample of various types of chocolate. We then got to make our own chocolate house or train which the children got to bring home with them. The children had lots of fun playing in the playground afterwards and we also had a lovely woodland walk where we saw lots of geese on the lake.

 

Active Week in Senior Infants

We had a great Active Week last week, with lots of activities to keep us busy. We had a soccer blitz, with each team playing a match a day. The teams in our class were Liverpool and Barcelona. We had hurling with Paddy on Tuesday, learning some new skills with our hurls from last year. We had a HIIT class with Mrs Murphy, Mrs Armstrong and Mr. O’Brien. We also had PE stations with the playground leaders from 5th and 6th class. The children really had a great time all week, and I think their favourite part was getting to play soccer with Mr. Cronin on the last day!
