We had a great day for World Book Day on March 2nd. Some of us dressed up and looked amazing. We did a word search based on famous characters from novels, we designed our own book covers, we listened to an audiobook while drawing and we did DEAR time with the rest of the school.

‘Twas the Week Before Christmas…
Well done to the girls and boys in Mrs. Lawlor’s 3rd Class who recited the poem ‘A Visit From St. Nicholas’ by Clement Clarke Moore for the Christmas concert this year. It took great effort to learn the entire poem off by heart. They were super!
Talent Show in Room 13
Mrs. Lawlor’s 3rd Class got a real taste for the limelight last week, so they decided to put on a talent show in the class last Friday. We had singers, magic tricks, joke telling, guitar playing and tin whistle playing to name but a few. One boy showed off his football skills, another told us about his hunting hobby and a third showed us how many marshmallows he could fit into his mouth at one time! We had great fun. It’s fantastic to see so much talent in our class and school.
Guided Art – Elves
The boys and girls in Mrs. Lawlor’s 3rd Class watched a video showing them how to draw a Christmas elf. They then painted them and hung them up in the PE Hall. You may have spotted them at the Christmas Concert last week. It’s amazing how individual they all are, considering we all watched the same video. We are delighted with the results.
