The Fire Station

Our aistear theme for May was the fire station. We explored this theme at the following stations: role play, construction, cut and stick, art and small world.

Here are some pictures of our “fire” themed art:

And here are some photos of us having fun at the different stations:

Active School Week – Room 1

We had a busy week keeping active and one the children thoroughly enjoyed! Below are photos of our class teams Arsenal and Real Madrid in the soccer tournament, our HIIT session in the hall with Mrs. Armstrong, Mrs. Murphy and Mag and finally some photos of the playground games with the playground leaders.

The Puppet Theatre

Our aistear theme before Easter was the puppet theatre. We had great fun at the role play station using the different puppets to put on puppet shows for our class. We designed and stitched our very own puppets at the art station.  At the construction station we created all sorts of imaginative characters and creations using the construction straws. At the  final station we used shape stencils in our 2d shape booklets.

Below is our Easter art.

More Active Week Fun

We may have had to wait a week for our final Active Schools activities because of the rain but what a day we had! We had our last soccer blitz and Mr Cronin even joined us! We joined the rest of the school for some dancing in the yard. We also got to do lots of stations and learned new games with the playground leaders!
